Multi-scale approach for different type of drought in temperate climatic conditions

Abstract Drought with its occurrence and manifestations at all levels of the natural components, yields both direct indirect negative effects, on ecological systems, water resources, social, as well economic aspects life. Therefore, any analysis that concerns this phenomenon, must be carried out a multi-scalar level, addressing manifestation (meteorological, hydrological, hydrogeological drought). Standardized evaluation indices (for precipitation-SPI, evaporation-, -SPEI, streamflow-SDI groundwater-SGI) have been used to analyze evolution drought phenomena in Eastern Romania, for 1, 3, 6 12 months’ time-scales, applied seven groundwater bodies. The results complement observations concerning meteorological (using SPI SPEI) East European region, by highlighting sequences last two decades century. Those are accompanied which occurred extensive areas, starting from 2007, until present, effects river discharge increases level depths. Bravais–Pearson correlation coefficient shows close connection between hydrological ( r ~ 0.45 0.68) 0.42 0.74) wells piezometric under 5 m depth. In larger context climate scenarios envision an increase air temperature, decrease atmospheric input, frequency is obvious, all-natural components dependent resources.
